My name is Stephanie Pogue and I am the owner of an independent health and life insurance agency,  St. Louis Insurance Group, LLC.
I have been in the insurance industry for over two decades, in the corporate environment and on the individual sales side. During my insurance sales career I have also been a recruiter, field trainer, sales manager and now, agency owner. I have qualified for multiple company conventions and won several contests and trips throughout the years.
Prior to starting my own agency, I was ranked as the top female sales manager out of approximately 600 total managers.
I have earned several designations throughout my career including, my LUTCF. In the past, I have also been securities licensed with a series 6, 7 and 63. I am currently a member of NAIFA, AALTCI and NAPW.
However, I started my career exactly where you are now. I was ambitious and eager but completely confused about how to sell insurance.
I didn’t know if I had chosen the right company.  I struggled to make ends meet as a commission only agent. I struggled with setting appointments, finding prospects and selling policies. I wanted to quit every day during the first year or so.
My struggles have prepared me to help you through the confusion of your first year. I want to share what I have learned and make it easier for the next generation of insurance agents to get started. There is a significant amount of information that can be found online but most of it assumes you already know the basics.
I can help you learn the basics.
I also realize the insurance industry doesn’t have a good reputation overall and I want to help change the negative perception and culture surrounding insurance agents.
I want new agents to know they can sell policies in an honest and ethical manner and still earn an incredible income for themselves.
What other profession gives you the opportunity to make an unlimited income no matter what your educational level or background may be? This profession allows you to add money into people’s households in their time of need. In my opinion, there is no better opportunity.
I also want consumers to know that there are trustworthy and reputable insurance agents who want to provide an honest service and help families make the best decisions.
Each new insurance agent that I help get through the struggle of the first year has the opportunity to positively impact hundreds of lives during their career. I have not found a better way for me to use my knowledge and skills to help people, than by teaching others how to be sucessful insurance agents.
